Build School for Poor Children

Build School for Poor Children

HANET works to increase access to quality education for marginalized children, particularly adolescent girls living in fragile and conflict-affected settings.

A world with education for all – We are making progress.  But there’s more to be done. All children have the right to a safe, inclusive and quality education. We want all children to be educated for life, in a safe and nurturing environment, in order to lead productive and fulfilling lives.

We support communities, local partners and key government’s ministries in their efforts to ensure that all children including the most vulnerable and marginalized have the right to a quality basic education.

Our education projects cover a range of activities, including basic literacy and life skills through both formal and non-formal systems, education grants and fee support, teacher training support, distribution of school learning materials, construction and rehabilitation of school infrastructures as well as support to school feeding programs.

With support from partners in the education sector, we were able to reach thousands of children, youth, and adults from refugee, IDPs and host communities, thus contributing to improving education sector.

Our programs provide tailored solutions to students facing multiple barriers to education to acquire relevant skills, creating opportunities for positive transitions to secondary school and dignified livelihoods. Our integrated approach is based on extensive research on what works to increase marginalized girls’ learning outcomes, retention, and wellbeing.

We put girls at the center of our programs and build a supportive environment for them in the community and at school. At the individual level, HANET Organization helps girls develop their academic competencies alongside leadership and life skills, raising their confidence and voices. At the community level, we work with parents and traditional and religious leaders to shift negative gender and social norms affecting education outcomes, increasing support for girls’ education and active participation in school. We work with Ministries of Education and school staff to improve the quality of teaching, strengthen supervisory capacity, and develop gender-transformative and inclusive policies and budgeting.
