HANET’s mission is to save lives and support people in meeting their needs in hard to reach areas. HANET develops and implements programs that target the most vulnerable amongst populations that have suffered from conflict, natural disaster, or socio-economic hardship. HANET’s approach looks beyond the immediate emergency towards opportunities for longer term livelihoods reconstruction and sustainable development.

- Education: Improvement of educational standards through increased access, retention and promotion among the population of the Somalia.
- Literacy and skills development for women and other marginalized groups including girls and minority groups in the community
- Capacity building for community institutions that are important for public administration and service delivery.
- Prevention of HIV/AIDS through increasing awareness and capacity building of communities
- Health: Provision and promotion of primary and emergency health care services delivery in Somalia as well as secondary health care services
