This is the worst global food crisis in decades and it’s putting millions of children’s lives on the line.
Conflict, economic instability and the climate crisis are driving the huge reversal of gains made on child health, nutrition and poverty reduction in the past decades, threatening the lives of at least 1 million children in Somalia.
Hunger not only threatens children’s survival, but hunger also hurts a child’s whole world. It hurts to abandon your home and community to find somewhere with food and water. It hurts to watch your family struggle to put food on the table, to miss breakfast and know there is no lunch. It hurts being unable to help your brother or sister as their weight plummets and exhaustion takes over.
The philosophy of HANET Organization is a humanist and community centered philosophy of development. It was founded on a set of beliefs about the basic problems of African communities and their inherit power to solve those problems.
