HANET organization’s ZERO vision aims at positively impacting the issues of exclusion, climate change and poverty, in line with the principles of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Zero Exclusion, because nobody should be left behind; Zero Carbon, because we only have one planet; and Zero Poverty, because everyone should have the opportunity to realise their potential.
As the environmental crises deepens, aid agencies such as HANET are faced with two simultaneous challenges. We must propose coherent and proactive actions to respond to this crisis and support populations to be more resilient (…) and we must positively contribute to the collective responsibility by greening our operations
ANDRE KRUMMACHER, HANET’S VICE-CEO PROGRAMMES, IMPACT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
In line with our vision and ambition to reach a Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty world, we embrace an ambitious greening strategy to tackle environmental degradation and climate change, while meeting the needs of the most vulnerable. This requires adapting our internal organisational procedures on the one hand, and upscaling our programming related to fighting climate change on the other hand.
The philosophy of HANET Organization is a humanist and community centered philosophy of development. It was founded on a set of beliefs about the basic problems of African communities and their inherit power to solve those problems.
